Water Professionals International (WPI) is an external organization. Its ABC Testing service develops standardized and customized operator examinations. Echelon provides independent preparation, not WPI certification or official exam questions.

Ontario Also Uses WPI Examinations

Ontario also uses WPI standardized exams for Class 1 to 4 Water Treatment, Water Distribution and Supply, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection. OWWCO says Ontario OIT, Water Quality Analyst and limited-system exams continue to use Ontario exam content.

Confirm Your Jurisdiction and Exam Version

Exam adoption is jurisdiction-specific. EOCP introduced updated standardized Level I to IV WPI exams in July 2025. WPI's 2025 Need-to-Know Criteria apply to that exam version, not automatically to older or customized exams. Confirm your stream, level, exam date and applicable criteria with your certifying authority; do not assume Ontario uses the same version as BC.
